I have a daily devotional on my desk. Here is today's verse:
"Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay." I Peter 4:9
So I am encouraging myself (and my readers) to open your heart this season to cheerfully share your home. Isn't it cool that the Bible talks about being hospitable with our home? What a great gift! I hope to grow in this area of my life and to truly bless others with my home and my meals :-)

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!
I don't have any photos from this weekend but I feel so blessed to have the long weekend to relax. So I took a break from my camera too :-)
Thursday: We spent the day at Ben's parents. It was so great to be with my dad and the food was fabulous! I saved my appetite and I wasn't disappointed!
Friday: Vickie, Allison and I conquered the crowds of shopping. And boy did we score! We got some good stuff and the boys at our houses are going to be so happy with us. I had the best time out with the girls. We make a good trio :-)
Saturday: Christmas decorating with Boston. He was so excited to plug in the lights for the first time. He was dancing and clapping that he got them "working". It was such a riot. And now he is in bed so I will continue my online shopping.
No plans yet for Sunday, but I like it that way.

More Braces
Yesterday I took Boston into the orthodontist. I just stopped in to get a wire clipped that was poking in the back. Then the tech said, "Well since you are here, we could do next week's appointment today, if you'd like?" Boston sat on my lap and then dumped out all the drawers, but that is a different post. Anyways, Dr Borgen said my teeth are done but they want to move my bite a little bit more. So I am back to same old, same old. She did say I should get them off in the next "few months." My next appointment is December 18th, which will be my last appointment of the year. So if I am going to make my goal of getting them off before the end of the year, I have 1 more chance. If not, I will have to shoot for Feb? I know you all are SICK of reading about my braces soap opera, but believe me not as SICK as I am of having them. Smiling with metal :-)

Potty Training
We have officially started the potty training adventures. And I figure I better blog about it. Plus, I could use any mommy advice out there. It started a few weeks ago when a certain someone during his naps was taking matters into his own hands, if you catch my drift. And we are talking messy and time consuming to clean up.
So, today we spent 2 hours (yes you read that right) sitting on the potty. Boston is not afraid to sit on the potty but the trick is to keep him occupied and entertained. We played lots of games, sang every song, read books, squeeze paint into the water. I told him the toys were "potty toys" and he could only have them when he was sitting on the potty. In the whole 2 hours, nothing came out. But this is progress because he used to squirm and leave. This is hard work!
Any tips?

Don't tell anyone
I am already in the Christmas spirit, a little. I have started a little bit of shopping and planning. And possibly worst of all I turned on some Christmas music. To my defense we are going on vacation from Dec 7 - 17th so I feel like I need a little head start. And next weekend I am just giddy to see Ian and Gavin, my nephews. I think Christmas and kids go together. Anyways, here is a picture from Christmas 2004 (I think) because there is Gracie and no Boston :-)

Lot Update
There is not too much to update on our lot. However, we have started cleaning the place up. Below is a photo of our tree permit. Not sure if you can make it out but we are cutting down 43 trees! And there are PLENTY more to look at and enjoy. So apparently with the city, bids, trucks, scheduling this process can take up to 3 months to get the lot buildable. And we are fine with continuing to wait. Ben wants to close up some of his business projects and I want to focus on Boston, family, holidays, and vacation! So we hope to think about it again in the spring of 2008, maybe summer. We will get there :-)

Sundays
Sundays have always been my favorite day. A day of rest and a day of family. When I was younger we would have sandwiches and chips after church and everybody would take a nap. Ben and I still do this! Today we went to church and then had a quiet day at home. Boston slept for 3 hours (Yipee!) and then we all headed to the park to take advantage of the last few hours/day of sunshine. Then we went out for a bowl of soup and ice cream. Boston had an early bath and we are off to put him to bed. Wishing everybody a good night with their families. Happy Sunday :-)
